Go There Moments of Degrassi (Season 3)

This is where ‘Degrassi’ really started to come alive and make waves with people who didn’t even watch the show regularly. Gay-bashing, teen pregnancy, domestic abuse, and even cancer were on the table. It was a wild ride but 10 moments pushed ‘Degrassi’ further than ever before and freaking went there more than others.

JT’s Wet Dream

While there has been a cascade of great couples to walk the halls of Degrassi, I’d argue for days that JT and Liberty were and will always be the best. The seeds that were planted early with her crush on him, and them final – well, we’ll get to that later. For now, we have to focus on JT’s wet dream about Liberty. He denied liking her but dreams don’t lie. What took this moment over the edge was the fact that he had the dream at Toby’s!

Manny’s New Look

Manny was almost as lost in the crowd as Heather Sinclair until this season. Pretty innocent and childish when we first met and throughout the second season, girl went through puberty, and then some come the third season. She represented every girl who buys one thong in middle school and thinks they are all that and a bag of chips.

Sean’s Party House

Sean should have never got involved with Jay and Alex, but he did so when his brother moved for a job and left him to live alone – of course, the bad apples of Degrassi would take full advantage of an unsupervised house to party in. Only, the partying went too far when Amy winds up passed out on the bathroom floor and the ambulance has to be called.

Snake’s Diagnosis

Cancer will come back around on ‘Degrassi’ but the first time we saw it on ‘The Next Generation’ it was Snake who had to go through chemo. Then I didn’t know a damn thing about leukemia but now? My fiance had it in 2017, so I was really into this storyline more.

Emma’s Bio Dad

Spike got pregnant back when she was just a kid herself, and Emma’s dad bounced. We never really knew where he went but with Snake in her life as her stepdad and a new baby on the way – Emma wanted to know where the hell her actual dad was. She found him, but confused memories from her toddler years led her to believe he was a doctor…when she found him, that was far from the case. He was in an institution because of brain damage.

MIA Laptop

Snake has cancer and what does Sean do with his new buddy, Jay? Steals Snake’s brand new laptop to get back at Emma. One of the biggest dickhead moments of the series.

Ellie’s Cutting

Cutting was something I saw often in middle school so while this wasn’t a shocker to me, it was still crazy to see it being portrayed on TV at the time

Gay-Bashing

Marco comes out to Spinner (who reacts so bad that I can’t even with Spin), soon after Marco is gay-bashed on his way to meet up with his friends at Dylan’s hockey game. You know it’s just a scene in a show, but it’s still hard to watch.

Rick & Terri

Terri should have dated Spinner. This is fact, but alas she was left to date Rick because he showed her attention. I get it. I’ve been there, but wow. We were relieved when Terri broke up with him after he slapped her one too many times but then were sad to see her get back together with him because that led to an altercation she literally never came back from. Seriously, why the hell didn’t they let Terri come back to school after she woke up from a coma?

Manny’s Choice

When Manny finds out she’s pregnant with Craig’s baby, they dabble with the idea of becoming teen parents but she wises up and realizes that is not in the cards for her. So she does what’s right for her and decides to get an abortion. Still one of the best and crucial moments in the show’s lengthy history.
